3 SIMPLE STEPS TO MEET THIS PET:
Pokey's Story
Pokey is an adorably clumsy puppy at heart, (having come of age in the shelter). He LOVES morning wrestling matches with his foster sibling and then chilling out the rest of the day. Pokey is looking for an active family to help direct his energy with long walks, some more training, and lots of positive reinforcement and enrichment. And as he’s highly food-motivated, he will be easy to train for a patient adopter willing to give him a chance to learn how to be a very good boy! And if you’ve got time to spend on some fun training activities, like nose work or agility training to help channel Pokey’s natural energy, curiosity, and intelligence, Pokey’s love of life will captivate your heart!
According to his recent foster, Pokey is a giant goofball, almost fully potty-trained, and relaxes in his crate while you’re out. And as Pokey does well with a doggy sibling, he’d be happy to share your love with a big sis or bro too! Are you Pokey’s new family? If you are a fairly experienced owner and are looking for a great young boy with potential to be a super playmate and companion, come and check out this lovely young pup, you’re sure to be rewarded with a playful and loyal family pet!

If you’re interested in adopting this pet, please complete the following steps:
1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!
2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.
3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.
Please note that while we can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet, please feel free to complete a new Adoption Inquiry Form or visit our Adoption Center. Walk-ins are always welcome, but appointments are recommended for a more efficient visit!
Want another way to spend time with our adoptable (or soon-to-be-adoptable) pets? Consider fostering.
