Geneva's Story

There is nothing better than the help of a stress-free and loving home for pets who are healing from illness or injury. That’s why we created Help Me Heal, a foster-to-adopt program for pets like Geneva. Geneva is waiting for cherry eye repair surgery, but she doesn't have to wait in the shelter while she is healing - she can go to her future adopter's home through our Help Me Heal foster-to-adopt program.

Geneva is a sweet pup with SO much love to give! This big, playful pup loves to play as much as she loves to cuddle. Geneva is treat motivated, and she loves to learn new things. At home, Geneva would love to snuggle up on the couch with some blankets, toys, and her new forever family. Geneva will do best in a quiet home to give her some time to settle and get comfortable. But once Geneva gets comfortable, she will follow you anywhere!

By choosing to foster and then adopt you’re helping Geneva transition into a forever family more quickly and with less anxiety. During the Help Me Heal foster period, PAWS even covers all medical care and medicine until your pet is medically cleared for adoption.

Meet Geneva

Geneva can’t wait to meet you!

If you’re interested in adopting this pet, please complete the following steps:

1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!

2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.

3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.

Please note that while we can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet, please feel free to complete a new Adoption Inquiry Form or visit our Adoption Center. Walk-ins are always welcome, but appointments are recommended for a more efficient visit!

Want another way to spend time with our adoptable (or soon-to-be-adoptable) pets? Consider fostering.

Adoption Process

All PAWS Chicago dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have up-to-date shots based on age and arrival date.
