Ignatius's Story

Ignatius is sweet, friendly, cuddly, and a bit shy. He came to PAWS Chicago from Dominica, and he's not used to city life. He is looking for a calm, quiet home, with a dog friend to show him the ropes! His foster family reports that he loves to snuggle in blankets in front of the space heater (who doesn't love to be cozy, honestly?) Iggy will even nudge you to pet him if you aren't already doing so. He can be a little shy when new people come over but given time to warm up he'll be asking them for pets too!

Are you Ignatius' new family? You might be if you've got a friendly, playful resident dog who's looking for a sibling, older or no children, and a relatively quiet home.

Meet Ignatius

Ignatius can’t wait to meet you!

If you’re interested in adopting this pet, please complete the following steps:

1. Start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to each pet’s needs!

2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.

3. After finishing the adoption application, complete the Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and reach out within a few days.

Please note that while we can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet, please feel free to complete a new Adoption Inquiry Form or visit our Adoption Center. Walk-ins are always welcome, but appointments are recommended for a more efficient visit!

Want another way to spend time with our adoptable (or soon-to-be-adoptable) pets? Consider fostering.

Adoption Process

All PAWS Chicago dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have up-to-date shots based on age and arrival date.
