Hello, I'm Nate

Otso (formerly Nate) is great! He's very sweet and affectionate; very playful and with energy for days.

Nate's Story

He can be rambunctious in the house, but there have been no issues with barking, and his destructive impulses are minimal, and only really come out if I have to leave him alone (since I'm working from home he is very used to having nearly constant access to me). He's popular in the neighborhood, and people frequently comment on what a handsome and happy looking dog he is. He's also very popular at the dog park, since he's gentle, playful, and silly, and is also always looking for affection from the other dog owners. He is a great runner, and loves to play with a ball, but tug o' war and chewing up my shoes seem to be his greatest aspirations in life.

He completed the PAWS Obedience Training 101. By and large, obedience training hasn't been an issue. He is very smart, very food motivated, and eager to please, and has learned basic commands well. We do have some issues with his manners when he's excited or unsure: getting him to take up loose-leash walking has been tough, and even more difficult is getting him to stop jumping up on people. I am also considering advancing to teaching him tricks.
