Step 1: View available animals
Meet all adoptable pets at pawschicago.org/adopt and see who steals your heart. Remember to use your ComPETibility Scorecard to help you find a match, especially if you have other pets or children in your home.

Step 2A: Schedule an appointment
Scheduling an appointment is a great way to make sure our staff and volunteers can see you right when you arrive. If you fall in love with a pet online, please know they might find a home before your appointment. While we can’t place a hold on adoptable animals, new homeless cats and dogs just as cute and lovable head up to our Adoption Center in their search for a family like yours every day!

Step 2B: Want to meet an adoptable animal in foster?
If the animal you’re interested in adopting is in a foster home, please complete our Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form instead of scheduling an appointment. If our Adoption Team has next steps, they’ll be sure to reach out to you. You can see each animals’ location by taking a look at their bios on pawschicago.org/adopt.

Step 3: Didn’t find your perfect pet? Stop in again!
If at first you don’t find the perfect pet for your family, try, try again. No need to complete another ComPETibility Quiz or Adoption Application—we have them on file for six months. Just schedule another appointment to come in and meet all adoptable animals or complete a new Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form.
