Finch's Story

Finch's Story

Type of Foster Home:

Finch needs an Advanced Foster home. If you've had a pet or fostered before, you have all the skills you need to be an Advanced Foster.

Finch would love a foster home while he waits to get adopted! Finch is a super friendly, loyal, smart dog who loves to train! Do you enjoy long walks and learning new things? So does Finch! He is happiest on a long walk where he can run and leap and play fetch with his squeaky toy.

His foster says “Finch is both rugged and sweet. He is a great little hatchback four-wheel kind of dog!” Finch is quite content at home. He likes to show off his tricks and learn new ones in exchange for treats. He can entertain himself chewing on his antler and rope toys and will nap peacefully in a blanket.

Why is Finch still searching for his family? Finch can’t settle when he is left alone so his family must be home the majority of the time. He should not live with another dog or cat as he likes his food and toys too much to share. His foster needs to have experience with dogs. Children in the home should be over the age of 12 and have lived with dogs before.

Finch is patiently waiting to be someone’s best buddy!

How to Foster Finch:

New fosters can take the first step by learning about fostering and completing the Foster Care Application. Veteran foster parents can email to schedule a pickup appointment.

Finch is available for foster pick-up through the Adoption Center at 1997 N. Clybourn.

Meet Finch

Finch can’t wait to meet you!

If you’re interested in adopting this pet, there are few steps you must complete before scheduling an appointment at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center:

1.   Please start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to their needs!

2.   After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.

3.   Finally, complete our Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form! Once this form is submitted, our Adoption Team will take a look at your adoption inquiry and, if they have next steps, reach out within a few days.

Please note that while we can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet, please feel free to complete a new Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form.

Please note that due to current COVID restrictions, to meet or adopt an available animal, you will need to schedule an adoption appointment for animals located at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center or complete a Foster Pet Adoption Inquiry Form for animals in a foster home.

Want another way to spend time with our adoptable (or soon-to-be-adoptable) pets? Consider fostering.
