Amos's Story

Type of Foster Home:

Amos is a 7-year-old female large breed dog. She received a special operation during our care for a TPLO repair, short for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy. She has recovered well and is looking for her forever home! In the meantime, she would love a foster home to relax in. She is housebroken and would do best in an adult-only home.

How to Foster:

New fosters can take the first step bylearning about fosteringand completing theFoster Care Application. Veteran foster parents can email fosterplacement@pawschicago.orgto schedule a pickup appointment.

You will need to pick-up Amos through the Adoption Center at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave.

Meet Amos

Join us December 6th, from 5:30-8pm for an in-person Adoption Event at the Lincoln Park Adoption Center. This is a one-night-only chance to meet some of the amazing dogs looking for a foster to adopt home! Only selected dogs (with the Adoption Event Banner) will be participating in this special adoption event.

Things to know about this event:

  • Make an appointment for the Adoption Event here.
  • Please be sure to complete your ComPETibility quiz and adoption application prior to the event.
  • The dogs with the "Adoption Event" will be a part of this event, and are looking for a foster-to-adopt home. Foster-to-adopt placements include a two-week foster period prior to the adoption. During the foster-to-adopt period, PAWS Chicago provides medical care, food and behavior support!
  • Please be sure to check their ComPETibility ratings against your own for great matches.
  • The event is first-come, first-serve for applicants who meet all adoption requirements and are a match to the selected animal.
  • The entire household must be present for the event to ensure that the dog is the right fit for the person/family.
    • Please note that many of these wonderful dogs would do best in homes without young children.
  • If you have a resident dog, please bring him or her along to meet the potential new canine family member!
  • If you are interested in other animals not participating in this event, please make an adoption appointment to visit the Lincoln Park Adoption Center another time.

Regular adoption fees and a $100 refundable training deposit still apply at the time of adoption.
