Aldous's Story

Aldous is a very friendly and chatty cat who loves to 'people watch' from the windowsill! This curious and playful boy is very affectionate and prefers to get pets on his head and chin. He loves to see what’s happening outside and being in on the action. His foster said Aldous is also a professional ‘biscuit-maker’ and likes to curl up on top of you and take a nap! If you can provide him with some regular structured playtime and fun chasing a wand toy or mouse toy, he’ll be in heaven!

Aldous is positive for FeLV. This means that Aldous has a suppressed immune system and will need to go to the vet for regular check-ups. However, he doesn't let this stop him from being a sweet, loving companion who is ready for a home filled with cuddles, tasty treats, and plenty of “mouse toy fun”!

Are you the household for Aldous? He is a confident, intelligent cat who is happy to be independent and look after his own amusement, as well as spend time snuggling and playing with his people, so he’s the perfect package of fun!

Meet Aldous

Aldous can’t wait to meet you!

If you’re interested in adopting this pet, there are few steps you must complete before scheduling an appointment at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center:

1. Please start by taking our ComPETibility Quiz to make sure they’re a good fit for your home. Your ComPETibility Score will help you compare your home to their needs!

2. After completing your ComPETibility Quiz, you will be emailed a link to complete your Adoption Application.

3. Finally, schedule an appointment at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center! During your appointment, you’ll be able to meet all currently adoptable animals at our Lincoln Park Adoption Center and walk through the adoption process with our staff and volunteers. Appointments are not required but encouraged for a more efficient visit.

Please note that while we can’t place holds on adoptable animals for your scheduled appointment, there are always plenty of homeless pets looking for a home! If you don’t meet the perfect pet during your first visit to the Adoption Center, please feel free to schedule another appointment.

Want another way to spend time with our adoptable (or soon-to-be-adoptable) pets? Consider fostering.

Why Adopt?

Adoption is one of the best ways to save a life. Only a few thousand more adoptions each year in Chicago, a city of millions of people, and we will be a No Kill community! You can make a real difference.

At PAWS Chicago, we keep working to grow our operations to save more homeless pets. It's how we've gone from saving a few dozen to 6,000 pets a year. But it is our adopters who make the real magic happen by bringing these loving pets home. Adopt a pet and spread the word!

First Time Fostering? Learn More

Our foster families enable us to take in more pets at risk. Some require a quiet place to heal from illness or injury; small puppies and kittens need a nurturing place to grow before they are able to be spayed or neutered and adopted; and others just need socialization and a break from the activity of Adoption Center living. Become a foster parent and help homeless pets in need!
