1. How did you decide to volunteer for PAWS?

I’m passionate about community building and giving back, and I’m a sucker for the doggos which made PAWS a natural choice.

2. What’s your favorite part of volunteering at PAWS?

There’s no comparison to the joy of walking into a dog suite and being greeted with the waggles and love of our sweet animals. I also love interacting with the community and fellow volunteers at events like Animal Magnetism and spreading my love for PAWS Chicago.

3. What makes PAWS special?

One of the first things out of my mouth when speaking with folks, whether potential adopters, donors or community members, is the PAWS Chicago promise - once a PAWS Chicago friend, always a PAWS Chicago friend. Our animals find themselves in bad situations through no fault of their own and have no voice - they need us to speak for them. The lifelong commitment PAWS Chicago makes to our furry friends is unrivaled and truly inspiring.

4. What’s your favorite PAWS story?

I’ve met so many wonderful people and doggos at PAWS that it’s hard to single out just one story. Whether at the Lincoln Park Adoption Center or fostering or events, I fall in love every time. However, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that I inevitably brought home a PAWS dogtwo and a half years ago, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

5. What would you tell someone interested in becoming a PAWS volunteer?

1- Be prepared to fall in love with a furry friend every shift.
2- It’s one of the most positive and rewarding experiences you’ll ever have.
