Hello, I'm Maria

Cupcake (formerly Maria) loves tearing toys apart, which is why she has so many!  She’s also very spoiled…

Maria's Story

I can confidently say that Maria has adjusted to life in my home!  I have decided to change her name to Cupcake and she immediately started responding to her name the first day I got her back.

Everyone in my neighborhood loves her and stops to say hi!  Cupcake wants so badly to play with the neighborhood dogs but most of them are seniors and more than 10 times her size. Honestly, I wish I can take her on puppy play dates. But, one day.

Once a week, I take her to my dad’s house. She gets along well with everyone else in my family. My dad is very excited to have a grand fur baby (that’s what he calls her)!  He also has no problem babysitting her if I need to be gone for an extended period of time. Everyone in my family loves her.  My cousin works for the PAWS Medical Center and helped take care of Cupcake while she was recovering from Parvo. She told me that it’s wonderful to see, in person, one of the animals she has taken care of.

Cupcake loves tearing toys apart, which is why she has so many!  She’s also very spoiled. My stepmom and I have bought so much stuff for her already.  I have taught her 5 tricks already.  Cupcake knows sit, lay down, paw, spin, and jump. She is very smart, so gets very bored easily.  I make sure to give her the mental stimulation that she needs everyday so she doesn’t destroy my apartment.

Funny story: Cupcake hates baths. I mean, really hates baths. The second time I gave her bath, she threw the biggest tantrum I’ve ever seen a dog throw.   She is definitely a sassy pants and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am attaching some photos of her in this email. The last photo is my first night with her while I was fostering her.  The rest are from when I officially adopted her.
