Johnny's Story

 Hello!

We adopted Johnny on August 4th, and after a few days, named him Jack.  After having him for a month, he is now fully potty trained and knows the command of sit very well! We are very proud of him! He is a delightful little guy with such a good natured disposition.  He loves being outside and is very agile and athletic. He is super cuddly and friendly to everybody and very social with other dogs too.  But it’s children he seems to really love - he likes kids! Other favorites of his are treats, belly rubs, his blanky, and his bones.  He walks well on a leash and likes car rides.  We take him with us when we can.  In one of the pictures attached, we went to the farmers market and took him into some of the stores there.  He did great!  He seems to have adjusted pretty quickly in the short four weeks we’ve had him. He’s always been a good little eater, and he sleeps with us at night in a crate in our room, and goes right in.  He sleeps well at night, so luckily, we do too! Overall, he’s been a pretty easy-going puppy. I am home every day, and so there is a little separation anxiety when I leave the house. I don’t leave for too long just yet. We are slowly adding a bit more time to being gone. Other than that, he seems well-adjusted and happy.
We did do the microchip registration and I also ordered I.D tags with our name, number, address, and his microchip number all on it.  I also registered his rabbies tag to the county we live in. And, yes- we are registered for obedience 1 training class through Paws, which starts for us next Thursday! Jack and I are both excited for that!
Health wise, he seems to be doing well.  We did our initial wellness check, and completed his vaccines.  We go back next Tuesday to get his booster for the limes vaccinations, and to get October’s round of heart worm and tick and flea preventative. He was 25 lbs. when we got him, and last week he weighed 33.9 lbs.  so he’s growing -and fast!
