Meet Bennett, an enthusiastic Border Collie mix who is always searching for a job to do! He was found as a stray and brought to Chicago Animal Care and Control in late March but luckily PAWS Chicago stepped in and gave him a shot at finding his perfect forever home. You might notice Bennett’s milky right eye in his picture. He has a congenital eye anomaly known as Coloboma, which is a split or hole in the iris that is caused by incomplete eye tissue development prior to birth. As a result, Bennett is visually impaired in his right eye, but that doesn’t stop him one bit! He is full of spunk and his butt is always wiggling because he is one happy boy.
Bennett is very smart and energetic and he is willing to work for almost anything whether it be food, toys, or treats. His dream is to find an active, adults only household that has experience with dogs, maybe even a working dog like himself! He also hopes that he can continue training with his new family, so he can show off how great he is and learn some new tricks along the way. If Bennett could speak he would probably tell you he’d love to find a human that shares his passion for life and will go on endless adventures with him. He would also say he wants nothing more than to finally have a place to call his own that is full of squeaky toys, comfy beds, and a never-ending supply of kibble. Won’t you open your heart and home to this sweet boy?
