When you adopt a cat or dog who is a part of PAWS Chicago's Featured 5 program, you will receive:
Meet Kele. Or as we call her--Bunny Cat--because with all her enthusiasm for life she looks like she is always hopping! Kele is a five month old kitten, who loves to play with other animals, especially other cats. When not playing with animals, Kele is keen on playing with mouse toys, wand toys, any type of cardboard and loves to use her scratching post.
Kele has some special needs, but she is determined to do everything any other cat can do and does not let her differences slow her down one bit. She was likely born with a congenital spine malformation. This resulted in a tail amputation as well as several lifelong conditions, such as fecal and urinary incontinence. She also has some unsteadiness in her back legs. Although her mobility and energy are great, this condition needs to be monitored as it could progress and she should not have access to heights to avoid accidents.
Kele will need adopters who are willing to manage her daily needs as well as provide her with regular medications and veterinary care to make sure that her conditions are under control. She will also require daily baths of her hind area and will need to wear diapers to help with her incontinence.
If you are interested in meeting with Kele and learning more about this stunning girl, please stop by the Pippen Fasseas Adoption Center at 1997 North Clybourn Ave., in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood today.
