Meet Silas! Silas is an adorable little guy with a larger than life personality! With his adorable perky ears and a face that is completely irresistible, it’s hard not to love Silas just by simply looking at his photo! He is certainly a handsome boy! With his award-winning looks, Silas is hoping that he can charm the socks off of the perfect person he can spend forever with. Silas was originally brought to Chicago Animal Care and Control as a stray. After seeing his potential, PAWS stepped in and decided to give him a chance to find the perfect family for him. Silas hopes this will be with a patient and understanding adopter who can help him to develop into a wonderful canine companion and guide him to becoming the best dog he can possibly be! We know that with the right adopter, this boy will surely thrive!
Silas is searching for a quiet adults-only home where he can enjoy his adulthood to the fullest. He does get a bit apprehensive when people approach him and it does take him some time to warm up to strangers. Silas would prefer to be in a separate room, enjoying some alone time while guests are over. He can be described as a fairly independent boy who enjoys having his space. Silas needs time to develop a good relationship with someone first before enjoying receiving tons of love and affection from them. Silas will certainly need an experienced adopter who has had dogs on their own before and who can read his body signals and will be able to tell when he is uncomfortable. With tons of patience and work on positive reinforcement training, we’re sure that Silas will love his people until the very end of time! He is currently spending time away from the shelter in a foster home where he quickly adjusted to the feline in the home! He also has proven that he loves his toys and food so so much and likes having them all to himself. Since he doesn’t enjoy sharing his breakfast or dinner, he would prefer a home where he can be fed in a quiet and undisturbed place. Once dinnertime is over though, he will gladly go for a long stroll through the park! He has a lot of pep in his step and hopes his family does too! Silas can get reactive when he sees people zooming past him out on walks. He would thrive in a single-family home with a backyard or in an area without a lot of traffic. Although Silas has his quirks, he can surely be a lovable boy once you’ve become friends! He loves playing with toys and has proven to be very trainable! We are sure that once Silas is given all the tools he needs to succeed, he will become a beautiful companion for a loving family, both inside and out! Feel like you can give this boy the home he’s always wished for? Then stop on in and meet him!
