Rascal's Story

Meet Rascal!  This precious boy is absolutely stunning and uses his good looks to his full advantage!  His gorgeous markings and warm eyes are enough to have you falling in love with him at first sight!  Rascal originally arrived at PAWS as a young pup and was quickly adopted.  Sadly, he was returned after spending two years in the home when his family began to go through lifestyle changes and could no longer care for him.  Rascal has been slowly adjusting to life here at PAWS and is patiently waiting for the perfect family to come along and make him theirs forever!  This sweet and active boy hopes that his people enjoy being on the move as much as he does!  He loves any and all types of exercise and enjoys walks as much as he enjoys playtime!  Rascal is still learning how to be the perfect gentleman on a leash, so he would do best with someone who is confident and has strong handling skills and can help him to mind his manners.  He is also highly food motivated and willing to work for any kind of treat you’ll offer him!  Rascal hopes to continue his training in the future and expand his horizons!  He is a super smart cookie who will surely thrive in obedience training!

Rascal is on the hunt for an adults-only home with an experienced owner.  He can be weary of strangers and fast movements, especially when going for walks.  Rascal would do best with a family who will be patient and go slow with him and will allow him to become comfortable at his own pace.  He hopes that his forever home will have a big backyard he can run and play in!  Otherwise, he would love to walk in low traffic areas where there’s not too many people or dogs walking by.  Rascal also is such a big fan of his food and toys that he doesn’t enjoy sharing them with others.  He would love to be with someone who will be able to manage this behavior in the home.  He does enjoy the company of other dogs, but since he doesn’t like to share he would do best with an older and more laid-back canine buddy who will give him his space when he needs it.  Rascal is described by most as a playful, loving, and smart boy who has a ton of love to give to anyone willing to get to know him!  Take him outside for some playtime and he will be your very best friend until the end!  He especially loves to play with tennis balls and tug toys, so he hopes his new home will have lots of them for him to play with!  As if this boy wasn't already super special, he does great when left alone in a crate for a few hours and is fully housebroken!  If Rascal’s gorgeous face is already tugging at your heart strings, then you must come in and see him in person at the Lincoln Park Adoption Center!  He is even more handsome and adorable than you can even imagine!

  • Did someone say 'treat'? I'll take them all!
  • You + a tennis ball = my perfect day.
  • I'll take as much exercise as I can get!
  • Squeak!  Squeak!  I love Squeaky chew toys!
  • Going for a car ride? Take me along!

Dislikes

  • I would love to find an adults-only home.
  • Fast movements can frighten me, so I prefer a slow-pace home environment.
  • I'd prefer a home where I don't have to share my food or toys.
