Hello, I'm Odie

He knew that I wouldn't give him food while I was eating but definitely leveraged the rest of my family's love for him and his cuteness during mealtimes. He would sit and look at them with these big eyes. He also loved to follow my mom around in the kitchen and snuggle with my sister.

Odie's Story

Obi (renamed from Odie!) has been great. I'm using treats to get him to look at me when spotting another big dog first (instead of his instinct to go nuts barking at the other dog). Sometimes it works; sometimes the other dog has already moved away before he's calmed down so it's hard to know if there's progress. I haven't enrolled in an obedience class yet but will be looking to see if there are any on the South Side.

Other major highlights... he flew with me back to Massachusetts for the holidays and was great on the flight- slept the whole way and didn't bark at the pug that was a few aisles away. He loved all the attention he got from my parents and my sister when he was in MA. He knew that I wouldn't give him food while I was eating but definitely leveraged the rest of my family's love for him and his cuteness during mealtimes. He would sit and look at them with these big eyes. He also loved to follow my mom around in the kitchen and snuggle with my sister. So yeah, he had a lot of fun during the holidays.

Thanks so much for all your help and work with Obi (and all of the team at PAWS.) Anytime anyone is remotely interested in fostering a dog/cat or adopting one, I've been telling them about my positive experience with PAWS (one of my friends adopted a dog, Charlie, from one of your adoption events this past December a day after we'd been talking about Obi and PAWS).
