Hello, I'm Faye

She surprises us each and everyday!

Faye's Story

Our new little bundle of joy, Faye. She was originally Priscilla at PAWS. We kept her original PAWS name as her middle name. The name is derived from the word "fairy" originally. In a show that Hassani and I both liked together, she is seen as an independent woman that is powerful and strong. She is a part of what really bonds us together as a married couple as well. We truly have found an amazing member of our family and I am glad to have her in our home. As it has been our first real month with Faye, it has been a get-to-know-you period. We have done a lot of research on her, from the quirks of her breed mixture to her medical history to get a true understanding about her. We found out her birthday is officially or close to July 6th, but that's what we set it at. We also found out that being from Florida originally, she hasn't had a winter coat in complete place. That was a given when she has enjoyed the scarf and winter coat we've put on her at times. As of recently, she has truly gained a confidence boost in being able to handle the extremely cold Chicago climate. She continues to get better at handling it each and every day. We took her to the vet one day already. Unlike other dogs I have ever seen, she took the visit very well, and even loved her vet. She loves people in general and has become a popular staple of the neighborhood, even though she has only been here for a month. She has truly surprised us each and every day. I remember the first time we took her to the park. She was in awe of the place. She also had shown how high she can jump as well. We take her there now as much as we can. Knowing that she can handle the wide-open space, we figured she should take advantage of the neighborhood we live in as a whole, to the neighborhood dog park. With the changes in temperatures coming to a balmy 40+ degrees, we had to take advantage of it. After doing the research, I decided to surprise Faye with a visit there to get an idea of how she would handle the environment. That of course, was after we did the research. She completely socialized with all the dogs, big and small, unleashed! I posted a video on their Facebook page as a result of my pride of her making her first visit enjoyable. She made everyone's day and the dogs completely got along with her. With more socializing and visits to the dog park, we truly believe she will be ready for the dog beach soon enough for the summer. Until then, she will get a dose of fun with her friends each and every day that we can.As our photographer, I have taken many pictures of our little adventures together. I will continue to take more in the future. If you would like to see more, feel free to ask. I have several. Faye is an incredible member of our family. Hassani and I will continue to give her the best and happiest forever home possible.
