Hello, I'm Welles

It’s been a very meaningful experience for me to be chosen by a shy cat. I love her a lot!

Welles's Story

Welles (now Mocha) is such a fabulous cat and addition to my home. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to adopt her. Mocha continues to get along well with my first cat, Mango. They grow closer every day!

I enjoy watching which spots Mocha chooses to lounge in, even if it’s the middle of the hallway carpet (I have cat beds! Haha). We’ve also been playing a lot together. I’ve never seen a cat so obsessed with a laser pointer (Mango is unamused, so I pulled it out on a whim)! I feel bad that she can’t catch the red dot, so I follow it up with a kicker toy and dinner, and she always seems pretty pleased with herself.  She’s so funny, darting around the kitchen with her tail up, chirping. (If I’m not careful, though, she’ll hop on the counter and start eating from her bowl before it’s ready!)
Mocha has really surprised me! I didn’t think she would be a cat that would seek out affection from me, but she has. Last week, I had a virtual doctor’s appointment with my neurologist. She crawled in my lap, started head butting me, and asked for pets. It was extremely sweet and I got a bit emotional about it. I had to explain to my neurologist that she’s really not a lap cat or a cuddle cat. Mocha, in the beginning, was very much a “look, don’t touch me” cat or a “wait, and I’ll come sit with you” cat. And I respect that a lot!  But I’m finding more and more that if I’m patient, she’ll chirp and come to me for affection. It’s been a very meaningful experience for me to be chosen by a shy cat. I love her a lot!
Thanks so much,
