Saba would love to meet you! She would do best in an adults-only home. Stop by our Pippen Fasseas Adoption Center at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave., in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, today.
Meet Saba! This pretty girl came to PAWS in May of 2016 with her litter of five kittens. After arriving at the Adoption Center it became clear that Saba was very under-socialized and not accustomed to being around people. She was placed in foster care where she spent several months working on learning to trust humans. Described by her foster dad as “shy, sweet, and enigmatic,” Saba spent the first few weeks with him in hiding but she eventually progressed to the point where she allowed him to pet her and would even solicit affectionate rubs from time to time. Saba loves food and sitting beside her while she eats will help her future adopter build a trusting bond.
Since she is easily spooked by loud noises, fast movements, and is very shy in general, Saba will need to be in a quiet, adults only home without children and most likely without other animals. While she made progress on her socialization during her time in foster care, she still has quite a way to go and will need an adopter who is willing to be very patient and let Saba take things at her own pace. With the help of a cat savvy adopter and the proper environment, Saba has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. Could you be the one to help bring Saba out of her shell?
