Hello, I'm Rambler

I wasn't sure if adopting was the right choice for me, but now I can't imagine life without my little Penelope (orig. Rambler)!

Rambler's Story

I adopted Rambler. She was my first foster animal through PAWS and I FAILED miserably!  I love her and her one little eye.  Rambler has now been renamed Penelope.

Penelope is a sweet little cat who loves to play. In fact, she is the best at entertaining herself for hours on end. She will chase balls around my apartment or bat at string toys. She recently has a very cat-like affinity for Christmas ornaments as well...

In some ways, Penelope is very cat-like and in other ways she's not. I was told cats don't like foil...she LOVES foil haha (great to keep her off my counter...) and she seems uninterested in treats or catnip. Penelope is a little leery around new humans but warms up quickly as soon as they are able to pet her. She loves pets under her chin and on her ears. She's so snuggly when she's sleepy and never minds being touched or handled on her belly/paws/anything!

Penelope uses ALL her cat toys.  While growing up, I didn't have a cat that played with toys...scratching posts, balls, strings. She loves them all. She also loves to bat tubes of Chapstick across the floor...it's becoming her favorite, so I need to hide them!

My favorite interactions have been between her and our new foster pup, Davey, a 10 year old Corgi (also through PAWS). Penelope was very unsure of Davey at first, puffing her tail and hissing constantly. But the nice thing about Davey is that he is the most easy going animal and can't hop on any furniture, so if Penelope is on a chair or a couch, she realizes she's safe!

Penelope loves to watch us out the window when we go in to the yard and she always has her "waiting spot" for me when I leave. Almost without fail, she waits on a small shelf unit near the door. I can be gone 20 minutes or 4 hours and she will normally just wait there. It's so cute!

I wasn't sure if adopting was the right choice for me, but now I can't imagine life without my little Penelope! She can be a small monster...but she's my small monster, haha!

Photos of Penelope and her foster brother Davey (the dog) are attached.
