Obi's Story

Looking for a sweet and lovable feline who can curl up on the couch with you during your Star Wars movie marathon? Then Obi is the girl for you! The Force is strong with this one!  Obi is a Domestic Shorthair looking for the perfect forever home with a family who will cherish her and provide her with the love she deserves.  A shy but affectionate cat, Obi enjoys pouncing soft toys, running obstacle courses, snuggling, and bringing peace to the galaxy! She originally came to PAWS as a young kitten and was quickly adopted into a home.  Sadly, she was returned after a year and a half when her family determined she was not a good fit for their household.  Since losing the only home she’s known, Obi has had a difficult time adjusting to life in a shelter.  In the hopes that she would come out of her shell and let us see her for the wonderful cat she truly is, we sent her into a foster home where she is truly thriving! Her foster family reports that Obi has perfect litter box habits, loves meal time, and can’t wait to give her foster mom kisses during cuddle time. In her spare time, she likes to practice her Jedi-like reflexes by playing with soft toys and climbing to new high places.

In true Jedi nature, Obi does not crave too much adventure.  She prefers to be calm and at peace, and would do best with other experienced Jedi Masters. Young children cause too much ruckus in Obi’s eyes, so she will do best in an adults-only home. Obi has one cat brother in her foster home, and she doesn’t mind sharing a window with him to watch the birds.  She prefers that other furry friends stay on the other side of the window, however. Like a true Jedi Master, Obi never uses the Force for attacks – she does not get aggressive and will let you know when she’s over-stimulated by seeking solitude in closets or under furniture. She’ll come back out when she feels safe and ready.  If you are interested in meeting this beautiful girl, come out to the Lincoln Park Adoption Center today!
