What
motivated you to join the PAWS Chicago Marathon team?
I've always wanted to run a full marathon, and knowing that I could support PAWS while achieving a life long goal, seemed perfect.
Is this your first
marathon?
Yes! Every long run is a new accomplishment, as I continue to run further than I ever have before.
On mile
20, what will you think of to keep going?
Knowing that I've come this far, and that soon, I'll have actually done it! Run a marathon! And that I'll have bragging rights for the rest of my life. I'll also be thinking of my family standing at the finish line, with Bella...and hopefully, they'll have ice, water, and something to eat!
Why PAWS Chicago?
I love that the money I raise goes directly to caring for homeless animals. Volunteering at PAWS has become such an important part of my life. I've been fortunate enough, to see firsthand, some of PAWS alumnae go to their forever homes, with their new family. I am proud of the way that each animal is treated, cared for, and loved by every staff member and volunteer. They become a very special part of everyone's lives. What a rewarding experience it's been!

What
obstacles/fears/challenges are you overcoming by running the marathon? I have always wanted to run a marathon, but the amount of training was a bit frightening! I definitely have had to talk myself into running some days, but the motivation has always been there to keep going. Oh, and let's not forget the aches and pains that come with the territory!
