Jen Sweeney
Age: Ageless

Occupation/title/what you do: I manage commercial office
buildings.
What motivated you to join the PAWS Chicago
Marathon team? I wanted to raise money for a charity that I am
passionate about: Dogs.Is this your first marathon?
No, but I think it will be my last.
On mile 20, what will you think of to keep
going? My post-race meal! I actually think about it at every
mile marker, but it changes every mile - sometimes it's a steak or ham & cheese
omelet or Gyros or Chicken noodle soup.
What obstacles/fears/challenges are you
overcoming by running the marathon? None really, maybe the wall
at mile 20.
Why PAWS Chicago?
We recently lost our 11 ½ old Husky, Hobbes to cancer. She had tumors on her
liver that ruptured and the emergency team was unable to save her. We walked
into the emergency center with Hobbes on her leash and 2 hours later we left
with only a collar and a leash. Fortunately we have 2 other dogs that remind us
how lucky we are to still have them in our life. PAWS provide animals the
opportunity to live a wonderful life, like our Hobbes did so I applaud the PAWS
employees, their dedication and their cause.
How did you find out about the PAWS Chicago
Marathon Team? My friend adopted her dog, Molly from PAWS
and always sends me the newsletters.
