Occupation/title/what you do: Attorney
What motivated you to join the PAWS Chicago
Marathon team? I had tossed around the idea of running the
marathon this year, but wasn't sure if I'd have the time or motivation to do it.
When I heard about the PAWS team, I figured this was the perfect motivator to
encourage myself to run the race -- I'm not going to let down all of the
generous people who have donated to the PAWS cause. Is this your first marathon?
No, it's my second.
On mile 20, what will you think of to keep
going?
My own shelter dog, Hogan, and all of the other dogs and cats that need homes
that are helped by PAWS.
What obstacles/fears/challenges are you
overcoming by running the marathon? I ran the Chicago marathon
last year in the horrible heat and humidity and was forced to walk the last 6
miles by the race organizers. It was a very tough day and tough ending to a
season of training. This year I'll be overcoming the bad memories of last year's
marathon and challenging myself to reach my goal finishing time.
Why PAWS Chicago? PAWS
does so much to help Chicago's animals -- I want to help in any small way that I
can.
How did you find out about the PAWS Chicago
Marathon Team? I saw an ad in the Red Eye.
