What motivated you to join the PAWS Chicago
Marathon team? My dog Dax. He's such a cool dog to have around
the house. I want to help a cause that makes sure dogs like him aren't
overlooked. Every dog or pet deserves a home! It's very motivating to know that
I'm running for a cause that means something. was deciding on which cause I
would like to run for. I saw the ad in the Red Eye, and just knew right away
that I wanted to be apart of this. I have a dog myself and treat him like a
member of the family.
Is this your first marathon? This
will be my second marathon. I finished my first marathon last year in Chicago.
On mile 20, what will you think of to keep going?
A few quotes will be going through my head, including:
"You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club." - Jack
London, and;
"Today is a gift for each of us. What are you going to do with it? How will you
make the most of life?" - Anonymous
Also, I joined the PAWS team because a no-kill Chicago is important to me.
By joining, I've given myself a sense of "cause" ownership and when I hit the
20-mile mark, I'll be thinking about that cause and how much I'm helping.
What obstacles/fears/challenges are you overcoming
by running the marathon? The achievement of finishing my first
marathon was very rewarding. The challenge is to keep the same enthusiasm and
motivation to help push me across the finish line.
Why PAWS Chicago? Since pets can't
speak for themselves, I believe it is very important to look out for them.
How did you find out about the PAWS Chicago
Marathon Team? My wife works for PAWS!
