Hello, I'm Zhoey

Overall, she is nothing short of the best addition to the family, the light of my life, and brings endless joy to everyone. We are so grateful to have been failed fosters because she is so wonderful and it is the best feeling to watch her live out her golden years to the fullest.

Zhoey's Story

Zhoey is doing AWESOME. We did keep her name as Zhoey, she did not attend training (she's 11 and already a good girl), and she is just living her best life. Attached are a few of the thousands of photos I have of her! She has a 2 year old brother named Kuma who loves to keep her active and playful, loves to go to the park and run in the grass, snuggle on the couch, fetch and chew on rubber squeaky toys, and bark out the window. She is a bit timid of leashes still (something about buckle sounds and being attached to a cord freaks her out), so she sometimes rides around in a doggy backpack as seen in the photos. And she knows how cute she is and milks it for all its worth. She has a huge fenced in backyard all to herself where she likes to sniff the neighbor dogs and roll in the grass. No dog can fetch as relentlessly as Zhoey. A switch in her brain must turn on when we're outside because she could fetch for hours without losing an ounce of excitement.

Overall, she is nothing short of the best addition to the family, the light of my life, and brings endless joy to everyone. We are so grateful to have been failed fosters because she is so wonderful and it is the best feeling to watch her live out her golden years to the fullest. We actually think she is aging in reverse because of how much she's improved from when we picked her up to foster on March 30th, nothing but skin and bones, sneezing and weak and feeble sleeping for hours wrapped in blankets, to now where she sprints full blast playing fetch with her toys and runs and jumps around with her brother. We were confident her future would just be as a "hospice" dog who just snoozed and napped all day, but to our absolute surprise she is as spunky as our 2 year old dog. She definitely gives him a run for his money daily. She is so spoiled; I cook for her everyday different combinations of brown rice, ground turkey, veggies, etc. She gets chauffeured to various parks all the time to explore new places and see the world. She sleeps like a queen at the head of the bed, the rest of us sleep uncomfortably and squished just so she can sprawl out.

She has at least a million nicknames, from ZoZo to Bozo to Dodo, Zo-bug, bug-dog, buggy, ladybug, princess zozo, it's embarrassing when people find out how obsessed we are with her.

Thank you again for taking her in from A Place to Bark (in TN) and providing her surgeries and care, I've already contacted them to show them her amazing recovery story from when they pulled her from a puppy mill just several months ago.

Zhoey is forever grateful of her PAWS rescue background for giving her this second chance to be a "real dog", she has never had an unhappy second of life since!!!
