Hank's Story

Milk Dud (renamed Hank) is doing great! So far, he is adjusting well to our household and schedule.  He was a little timid of strangers/other dogs, but is showing signs of warming up to people with each week that passes. We are making a big effort to introduce him to as much as we can so he is well socialized and not afraid of random things like the vacuum, bikers etc. as he gets older.

On another note, this past weekend we learned what a good traveler he is by taking him on his first road trip to Indiana for a wedding. He got to meet the rest of the family and had fun chasing my parents dog around their backyard. He also enjoyed all the attention at the nursing home when visiting his 102 year old great grandpa. I think everyone there fell in love with Hank.

He absolutely loves playing with his toy fox which makes a crunchy noise (see picture below).  Other things Hank enjoys: running up and down steps (makes for long walks in the city), being carried by mom and dad when he gets tired, "sitting" for treats, sitting on mom's feet while she cooks in the kitchen, and he also enjoys trying new foods that are healthy for dogs (carrots, apple, green beans etc).

Our next adventure will be dog training classes at Petco. We will be signing up for those soon but in the meantime we have been working on commands at home and he is very good at "sit" and "down" so far.

Overall, we are just in love with our little Hank- he brings so much laughter and joy to us each day.  We could not be happier that we adopted him! :)
