We were planning to change Gingersnap's name, but she had gotten used to Ginger while we were fostering, so we left it the same as she has already experienced too many changes in her life!

Gingersnap is still fearful, BUT she is slowly coming to. The first day we had her at home (foster time) she refused to go outside even to go potty. We would have to lead her down and sometimes even carry her (even though we were asked not to) so that she could go potty. She started to get more and more familiar with the house and gained a lot of confidence from Zoey (her now fur sister) and slowly was willing to go out on her own, but only to do her business, never to play. If Zoey chased the birds, Ginger would sprint back inside so scared she would paw to get in. Now, we cannot get Ginger to come inside and SHE IS THE ONE CHASING THE BIRDS!!!!!!! A small detail, but one that is a sign of progress. 

We are working to set up an appointment with the behaviorist as she is too fearful of people she doesn't know to attend a training class. We have been working with her and so far, we have taught her "sit," but that was challenging and took us about 6 weeks to see progress. She just wanted the treats. 

She has learned how to play with toys. This is huge because when she came to us, she did not appear to know what they were or have any interest and now she plays tug of war with her sister! She also really loves tennis balls. 

I would say that by far, her favorite change of moving from a foster is being allowed on the couch and on the bed. If she's ever missing, all we have to do is check one of the two and without fail, she is always there. She also LOVES to snuggle and will be the first to jump on your lap (shes 35 pounds and not so small) and circle into a small enough size to fit.

We love our sweet girl and Zoey and Ginger are the best of friends. It has been so cool seeing Ginger open up and start to show her true sassy, sweet, loving, spunky, and outgoing personality.
