A New Lease on Life Granted to Red, a Partially Paralyzed Pit Bull

After more than two years at PAWS Chicago Adoption and Humane Center, Red, a partially paralyzed pit bull, now lives life to the fullest at his foster home under the loving care of Dawn Schaible of Stockton, IL. A hero at heart, Red was shot and seriously disabled after two gunmen attacked and robbed his elderly owner in his garage on Chicago’s West Side. The robbers shot Red, causing the partial paralysis. His foster pet mom, Dawn, is a heroine in her own right. On why she chose him: “Most people prefer puppies, but I was like, “‘Oh, geez, who is going to want to adopt him?’” Read about Red’s new incarnation at “Paralyzed Pit Bull Finally Finds a Home.” – Chicago Tribune.
