Saving Lives at The Fur Ball
The Fur Ball is the most important evening of the year for Chicago's homeless pets, raising the funds that are instrumental to PAWS Chicago's lifesaving operations.
While Chicago's homeless pets have come a long way since PAWS Chicago's founding in 1997, when more than 42,000 cats and dogs were killed in the city, nearly 10,000 cats and dogs were still euthanized last year. Events like the Fur Ball are working to change that reality and save the homeless dogs and cats who are at risk.
This year, PAWS Chicago will find homes for more than 6,000 pets in the Lincoln Park and North Shore adoption centers; will spay and neuter more than 18,000 cats and dogs to prevent pet overpopulation; is working door-to-door in Englewood and other under-resourced communities to provide services to help people care for and spay/neuter their pets; and is engaging thousands of people in the cause of saving lives.
Each of these important programs are taking us closer to the goal of a No Kill community. Support from the Fur Ball makes it all possible.
