Hi PAWS Chicago,
Tigger is indeed doing fine. He has gained a bit of weight, loves Chuck to the ends of the earth, and loves his toys. He is still enthralled by the gerbils and spends hours watching them. Rawlings (Brunswick) the other cat still occasionally gives a cursory hiss at him, but generally, they are enjoying an amicable, if distant, truce. Chuck has
changed his name to Cyrus, Cy for short, in honor of the man who lived in this apartment for 30 years before we came here. - Carmen Cavello

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Earl is doing great and seems happy; I know I am! What a loving sweet dog he is. I've thanked God many times for Earl being brought into my life. My family have all met Earl and can't believe how good a dog he is. Earl is so well behaved it amazes me.
Be well,
Chris Dwyer

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Lyla is still named Lyla, and she has been an amazing addition to my life. We go for three walks a day, and she has run a 10k with me along the lake! She also loves birds and squirrels. She loves the dog park and has tons of new friends exploring the world. Here she is relaxing on the couch. Thanks!
- Ken Gasper

G'Day PAWS Chicago,
I wanted to get some good Gatsby pictures for PAWS Chicago. Joanne and I eventually would like to send you a print of Gatsby to pin up on your wall at PAWS to remember this great personality and celebrity. The attached picture is of Jaky and Gatsby hugging. They are such happy puddys!!!!!!! - John

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Mark and I renamed Angel. Her new name is Bella and she is doing very well. She is still a little shy with men, but she warms up to women really quickly. She really likes to go to the dog park and play with other dogs. They call her "Acrobat" at the park because she runs so fast and jumps so high. We think she likes the water because she sticks her head into the shower every
morning, so we can't wait to take her to Montrose beach for a swim. She plays really well with other dogs but is slowly learning that cats don't like to play with her. Bella will graduate from obedience training on Thursday. She is really smart and snuggly and we love her! She is a really great addition to our family. I also attached a pictures my cat, Sherlock, who was also adopted from PAWS. Sherlock is doing great. He and our other cat, Fred, are great friends. They play together well and love to be loved by people. I've never met friendlier cats in my whole life. I'm hoping that one day they will love to be loved by Bella too! Thanks so much. We found a really great dog and cat through PAWS and we won't forget it! - Anne

Hi PAWS,
Things with Piper are going great. I think we're just about finished with the adjustment period. He's gotten use to the routine; he's comfortable staying in his crate and rarely pulls on his leash when we take walks. We finished
an obedience class at the end of January, and he mostly follows the commands we learned. He's quite the independent guy so I don't think he'll ever be 100%. He's super exuberant, does the funniest things and is so
affectionate. He can turn almost anything into a game, which makes him a blast to be around and he manages to follow me around everywhere, even
running down the hallway to catch up, which always amuses me. Our big success is that he's almost 100% potty-trained. He's down to less than one accident a week and even then does his business in the kitchen (which is a great improvement from where we started since we have wall to wall carpet everywhere else.) I'm just so happy to have him. Hope all is well, Cristina

Dear PAWS Chicago,
The kitties are now known as Walter and Lulu (PAWS names Erlaker and Butkus) are very fine and very naughty!
Thanks again,
The Meltzers

Hello PAWS Chicago:
This is Maria Assif, Abdelhadi's wife and actually the main adopter of Max. Max is doing great. His name is still Max, and we couldn't ask for a better cat. He is a sweet heart!
Cheers,
Maria

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Stella (this is the name I gave the puppy formerly known as Lanna) is
doing great, and is the love of my life. She is currently sitting curled up on the couch, like the little princess she is. She's about 16 lbs, and seems to be growing out more than up, so I think she might have some daschund in her. She's also teething and lost two of her baby canines, so she has a cute asymmetrical set of teeth. She took a big road trip with me to North

Carolina and Florida over my month long break from grad school and met the rest of her family. She's a social pup, so she loved that.  Thank you for caring for her early in life and helping me find her! She's up and about now and looking for something to get into!  Take care - Delaney

 Hello PAWS Chicago,
Our Sheeba girl is doing great! (We kept her name.) Sheeba is a loving, happy and playful pit bull. She has been with us for 1.5 years now, and we are so grateful to have such a wonderful dog as part of our family. Thank you so much PAWS; you have brought much joy to our lives!
- J, D, & BA

PAWS Chicago,
Jada (now known as Maki) is doing fantastic! She is just the cutest thing and we love her to death! She gets along very well with our other PAWS adoptee Symba (now Ramen), and they play together very nicely. - Michelle and Rick Kinney

Hello PAWS Chicago,
I am happy to report that Paco, or Franklin as we call him, is doing
very well. His dandruff has gone away and he has completely come out of his shell. He is quite the lap cat (as you can see in the picture). He has become good friends with our other cat; they can often times be seen napping together, eating together, or sharing a bath. We are so pleased with how well he has acclimated to our home and are looking
forward to many more years of keeping him happy, healthy, and well fed. Thank you for introducing us to Franklin and giving him a home before he found one with us. We are fortunate to have such a great advocate for animals in this city. Best of luck as you continue to find families for all the others.  Adam

Hi PAWS Chicago,
I renamed Dalan.  His new name is now Wiley. He is doing fine and adjusted well here. Here is his newest photo.
Have a good day.
Thomas P. Conklin

Hi PAWS,
Adrianna immediately became Nikki, and it appears we all hit the lotto. I attached a representative photo, which reveals her nature. It's a match made in heaven, and thank you and all staff and volunteers for the incredible life saving work you do.
John

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Spencer (PAWS name Little Dave) is having a great time in his new home.  He is the king of the house. He sits on top of the laptop and cable box for the warmth. We had a group of people over this past weekend, and he was super friendly and enjoyed the attention. He also loves sleeping in the bed with us. My husband thinks Spencer is spoiled.  :)  Thanks again for everything, Stephanie

Hi PAWS,
Logan and I have big news. I was offered a wonderful job in San Diego, California two weeks ago and we will be moving this weekend. We have our whole cross country drive planned out with stops at multiple dog parks along the way. Logan has been doing great. She loved all of the snow and I have attached a picture of her playing in the park. Thank you for always checking in to see how we are doing, and I will keep in
touch so you will know how Logan is doing. - Adelita

Hi PAWS,
"Noel" is now named "Elliot".  She is doing great. She loves her big sister Athena (6 years old) and tries to play with her. Athena, who is a very shy kitty, has almost started playing with her.
Ray Prendergast

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Johnny Depp has become much beloved in my household! My other cat, Avi, and he couldn't be doing better together! They often clean each other, snuggle, and play. I'm just overjoyed with both of my wonderful kitties. I had brought Johnny (I do call him Johnny Angel more often than Depp) to
the Chicago Cat Clinic on Devon the second day he was home. They gave him a clean bill of health. I'm grateful to Toni and everyone else who was there that day and helped me see how special Johnny is.
Sincerely,
Sharon Stuertze

Hi PAWS Chicago,
We took Teddy to Petco for grooming today and thought it would be a good time to take some pictures.
Thanks, David, Don, and Tedd

Hi PAWS Chicago,
It's Matthew and Joe writing to update you on Tinkerbell's status. We did keep her name, it just grew on us through the whole adoption process. She is having a great time. She has more than doubled in size since we got her just about a month ago. We took her to the vet, where she got some of her shots, and she was very well behaved. She has gotten to know us well and now has no problem walking on our faces in the morning in order to wake us, or meowing at the door while we do anything in the bathroom with the door closed. She is so great. We are all having a great time. She has a lot
of toys as well as our couch and bar as her own personal stage. She seems to love exploring the whole place and new things that are just sitting around. We definitely look to keep her out of trouble. - Matthew Teresi and Joe Howard

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Lorna is doing great. We never changed her name. She graduated from puppy classes and we have already started obedience classes. She is such a sweet and wonderful dog. We love her dearly. I attached an updated photo of her. Thanks for everything.
Elana

Hi PAWS,
I kept his name so it is still Grady, and he's still doing just fine! I've attached a funny picture!
Thanks so much,
Erin

Hello PAWS Chicago,
I just wanted to let you know that Tom Tom is doing really great. His new name is Wrigley. He is a very affectionate cat and such a welcome addition! We can't imagine life without him. He greets us when we come home from work and also tries to sneak out the door with us when we leave in the morning. He loves to play with those grocery bag twist ties, plastic shopping bags, and gift bags - pretty

much any kind of bag he can get into. He's also fallen in love with the new laser toy we bought him. After reading through his paperwork and with some research online, we found that he is a Lynx Point Siamese. That explained his markings and his light blue eyes. Thank you for him. :o) Marie and Aaron Jackimowicz

Hi PAWS!
Things are fantastic with Brody! I kept his name as Brody; it just seemed to suit him! We've been having a great time together, despite the cold weather. Brody actually loves the snow; he tries to eat it ever time we're out! He's had a really easy adjustment, which has been wonderful for both of us! We've signed up for an obedience class at "Anything is Pawsible," which starts in a few
weeks. He doesn't have too much to work on, but I thought it would be a fun bonding thing for us. I'd like to take a minute to thank you and the entire PAWS staff for helping me find my guy! Even though we've only been together a month, I can't imagine my life without him! PAWS can definitely count us among its success stories! Thanks again! - Rebecca M. Girsch

Hi PAWS Chicago,
I have renamed Lizzy to Olive and call her Oli for short. She is a lot of fun. I brought her into Pulaski Animal Hospital for her check up. She currently weighs 25 lbs! I also discovered that she has been hiding food in her doggie house. All this time I thought she was really hungry when she would finish her food so quickly. She saves some to snack on it later! She is such a silly girl. She is not yet house trained, but she is paper trained. She has learned to use the newspaper when she needs to go. She has also learned to sit and give me her paw.
Thanks, Bonnie Kwon

Hi PAWS!
Thanks for checking on us! Lisa Marie (also now known as Sweet Pea - we use both names) is doing well. We found out recently she suffers from a respiratory disease and now takes meds regularly. It saddened us to find that out and it has become very expensive to treat her, but we love her so much! She has brought a lot of joy and love to our home! The vet also said Lisa has Siamese in her generational line
and we are beginning to see it in her face!  That is when she is not hiding it!  She is just growing into a beautiful cat!  Other than that we are good! Thanks for checking in!  Attached is a picture of her with my other cat named Flood. - Melanie

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Em is doing just great! She really likes to play in the snow and enjoyed when we took her to the lake. I don't know if you remember, but Em use to have a slight limp on her left rear leg. Because of it, she would always keep her weight off it. Well,
we're happy to tell you it seems to have gone away, and she walks just fine now! She really is a great dog, and we feel really lucky to have her. Thanks, Joe Salata

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Izzy (PAWS name Bree) is doing great. She gets along great with our other cat Bella that we also got from you guys. There inseparable and play all the time.
- Danya

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Sal is now Saul and is 5 months old today! He's doing really well. He's in his 3rd week of obedience training and is ahead of the other pups since he already knows the basics, sit, down and come. Last time we were at the vet he weighed 19.5 lbs. He's grown a lot but we're thinking he's going to be a small dog. A lot of people think he might have some Corgi or Bassett Hound in him because of his body
shape. Most days Saul goes to the dog park with me, which he loves so much. He's a little shy at first but he usually finds someone that will play with him. He loves climbing up on the benches and jumping off which always makes me a little nervous but reconfirms my thought of starting agility training with him. He has a lot of energy and needs a lot physical and mental stimulation. Saul is a really great dog and we are enjoying his company so much. He's such a comedian and cracks us both up all the time. Thanks for helping us find such a wonderful pet!
- Jasmine & Adam

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Oscar (Paws name Ledger) and Fiona are doing great. Oscar came home about a week before Fiona, but when they were reunited, it was quickly apparent that they were old friends. They've made themselves at home in every way; Fiona is still a little shy but Oscar is outgoing and loves to play and cuddle.
Thanks, Julie

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Oscar is amazing. We kept the same name. He is a dream! PAWS rules!
- Ari Elliott

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Candi has been doing really great and seems very comfortable at home. She plays a lot with Cotton Candy (my other cat) and together they storm around the apartment all the time! :)  Doesn't she look cute?!
Best, Betty

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Bing is doing fine. He's practically doubled in size already. We changed his name to Wrigley. (We're Cubs fans so that was a no-brainer!) We are feeding him Nutro now and he's doing fine with it. We have a park across the street and take him there when the weather allows. Here is a picture of Wrigley and my daughter taken the day after we got him.
- Vince Curtis

Hi PAWS,
We have re-named Kennedy. Her new name is Largo. Largo is doing
very well. She is pretty much housetrained but does have an occasional accident. She is very smart and is training us in good puppy care.  - Alisa McCune

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Waveland which is now known as Oliver is doing great! We love him so much and he is such a good kitty. Stella and him are best friends. I have attached a picture of them watching the snow fall. PAWS is such a great program and I refer everybody. Thanks for doing what you do.
- Katie Hammers

Olive Oil came into our lives back in September 2006. We were not looking to adopt a dog, as we already had our hands full with the wonderful rescue dog and cat we already had. Then I got the PAWS email informing me that another trip was being planned to go back to help the Katrina affected area of Mississippi. "Can anyone help foster a PAWS animal to free up some room at the shelter so we can bring back more Katrina animals?" "Foster?" I thought. Surely I could do

this. I went to the shelter and found this little yellow puppy being bullied by her brothers. I lifted her out of her pen, filled out some paperwork and brought her home.  I refused to rename her or do anything that may make me become attached. I thought I was successful, until I saw her picture on the PAWS website showing the world that my little girl was available for adoption. Waves of panic flooded my body. Terrified, I called my boyfriend. The decision was made, we would adopt this precious girl, now named Emma Krumbee. Emma has been pure joy to us. She is the smartest puppy I've ever encountered. She loves to learn, play, have fun as she takes in this big new world, and best of all, Emma loves to love and be loved. As much as we teach her, she teaches us right back. We are so grateful to PAWS Chicago for placing this amazing girl into our home, hearts and lives. - Sarah Ahlberg & Don Young

Guiness (PAWS name Kipling) is part of the family. He will be one year old on Monday, February 26th.  He's keeping our dog named Spike on his toes. Spike is fourteen years old but definitely loves Guinness's company. Guinness seemed right at home since the first day and has been part of the family ever since. We all love his company and couldn't be happier. God bless you all; thanks again! The Simonsen Family

Hello PAWS,
Just updating you on Riley (previously known as Olive). We celebrated her
1st birthday recently! We cannot thank your organization enough; Riley has
been a constant source of joy and happiness.
Thank you again,
Dustin, Emily, and Riley Fanciullo

Hi Laura,
Yes, we changed General's name. His name is now Wrigley (after Wrigley Field). He reminded us of a little cubbie bear, and we are true baseball/Cub fans! My boys will begin baseball soon, and Wrigley will be at their games (as long as he stays as well behaved as he has been)! He will be a little baseball mascot! He is darling. A sweet, gentle, loving puppy. We will be beginning training soon too.
He absolutely loves my kids (his brothers, and sister). His morning routine is waking them up for school, and it is the cutest thing. He wakes each of them up differently. Since Wrigley was a gift for my husband for his 50th birthday, Wrigley definitely has a special spot for him. They love to snuggle together. It's so very cute! Thanks for letting us adopt such a great little guy! He is very loved here!
- Andee

Hi PAWS Chicago!
We absolutely love Miss Ruby Ray (formerly Phoebe). She and Otis have become the best of friends, chasing each other, playing
constant tug of war, wrestling and cuddling. Everyone in the neighborhood knows and loves them, and I'm sure they think
they own the Gold Coast! We are spoiling her rotten and she loves all the attention! She's even learning to give kisses. The crate

training and housebreaking are going really well. She has put on weight and is so much healthier all around. We couldn't be happier with her, and the adjustment has been quick and easy. Thank you so much for the opportunity to give Ruby her forever home. Even in such a short time we've had her, we couldn't imagine our lives without her. I'm attaching a picture from when we took Otis and Ruby to Barker and Meowsky to have their pictures taken. (We're such proud parents!) Thank you again for everything. Best, Kelly, Geoffrey, Otis and Ruby

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Thanks for writing about Amarna (now known as Lucy). She is doing great. Attached is a photograph of her with our other cat, Rupert. You can see she is well loved here, and the two cats get along great. Rupert is only 1and a 1/2 years old, so they're both still very playful and active.
- Nancy

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Gus is doing great! We have not changed his name. He graduated from Obedience Class a few weeks back. He's a very fast learner and loves to please. He's become much more confident thanks to his great trainer, Amy Blum!  He has a girlfriend, Chaska, with whom he plays for hours on end. All of his family members simply adore him! We couldn't be happier to have him in our lives! As you

can see from the picture, Gus just loves to curl up on our Egyptian cotton bath mat and take a little nap.  Best, Keely

Hi PAWS,
Chloe (still her name!) is doing very well! She has grown quite a bit since we first got her, but she is still as cute as ever, and she still stops people on the street! She has developed the cutest little personality; she loves all people and animals! She really can't get enough and is always ready for a ride in the car so she can look at all the people walking around, or a walk around the neighborhood so she can visit with her little doggie friends and people friends too! We've almost got her completely potty-trained, and she can even sit and shake! Her favorite treats are snausages, but as ever she
is a sucker for a Kong filled with peanut butter. We haven't given her any people food, so she never begs or tries to eat our food while we're eating.  She's more content to run around and play with her toys! Thanks again and take care! We're looking forward to bringing her to a PAWS event soon! Regards, Kara, Greg and Chloe ( woof!)
