PAWS Chicago Alumni

Hi there PAWS!
Here is a picture of Alex and me. This is how he lays on me all the time. For the first ten minutes, he will lay with his butt up in the air and then he will lay down on me. It is the cutest thing!  He also stretches out and puts his paws on my face. He is so funny! You don't even know how happy this cat makes me.

Miles and Ella I wanted to send you a couple of pictures of Miles and Ella (PAWS names Widget and Beezus) for your "alumni" page! They have already grown so much! They have adjusted very quickly to their new home. They are doing very well, eating a lot and playing a lot!  Miles is running, jumping and playing which made me think of the orthopedic surgeon that performed the surgery to fix his deformed leg. I wanted to write the surgeon a note, to thank him!  What an amazing recovery he has made! Hope everything is
going well. Thanks for everything-they are absolutely wonderful and just couldn't be loved any more!

Dear PAWS Chicago,
We are writing to thank you for the wonderful new addition to our family! We adopted Belle (PAWS name Rose) in March and she has quickly become a very special part of our lives. Thank you again and keep up the excellent work! - Jeanne & Mark Mueller

I wanted to let you know about my new home. Things are going well. my new Dad took me to have my right leg re-broke and a plate put in. I love my new leg. Now I can run and jump, and run along the fence line to bark at the neighbor dog. I am learning to play ball, Friday, I start obedience classes. I am a happy puppy!
Thanks,
Gypsy

I got Tori (Fudge as she was known back 'in the day') from a PAWS event at Woodfield Mall in April '02. The funny thing about this is that I don't really like to go shopping and reluctantly went with my girlfriend to shop for a wedding shower gift. She got the shower gift and I came home with a dog. (Read more about Tori...)

Bijou seems very content and has adjusted well to her new home. She has gotten a bit plump and wants to eat pretty much all day. I think we will put her on a diet. Enclosed are pictures of her -- not well posed, but they show her pretty well. The other cat in the photo is Harry. They haven't completely bonded, but do seem to get along. Thanks again for adopting her to us! - Don & Maggie

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Here is a picture of my two "children" Joe and Bell. The photo of them on the couch pretty much sums up what I had hoped for. My son, Joe, has not stopped talking to her and Bell has successfully taught Joe to scratch his ear with his foot, do spinners both in the house and yard, and retrieve, not to mention curling up in the dog bed with her as part of his bedtime ritual. I can't believe how fortunate Joe and I are since Bell has come to live with
us. She is just great! Thanks again for allowing us to adopt this girl. - Mary Lynn Sobun

When we first saw this beautiful, little face on your website, we knew Gizmo (PAWS name Rocco) had to be ours. It was instant love from the first moment we met. Gizmo has a very happy home with two playmates, Hobbes and Lady, and days are spent chasing one another around the apartment. Also, Gizmo's favorite thing is to shred the shower curtain and lay in the tub. He is fluffy, loving and full of energy; we adore him!

Hi PAWS Chicago,
Here is our daughter, Kathryn with our two PAWS dogs, Henry and Fido. We adopted Henry five years ago at Angels with Tails on Michigan Avenue. He was in Barneys just waiting for us to adopt him! This year, at Run for Their Lives, we saw Fido and fell in love with him. We love them both so much. They are such a part of our home and lives. We thought you might want to see our family. Thank you!

Dear PAWS Chicago,
We would like to thank PAWS Chicago for allowing us to adopt a wonderful dog. I must say that I was a bit hesitant about a dog, since we have 14-month-old twin daughters, but Sydney is perfect; she is simply sweet. Sydney loves walks and the twins, and we couldn't imagine life without Sydney. We will keep in touch.

Dear PAWS Chicago,
Here is a picture of Shayna (PAWS name Rua). I adopted her from a PAWS adoption event at Bloomingdale's. I love her! Shanya loves her toys and she is very friendly to all people and dogs. I walk her five times a day! Thank you, PAWS Chicago, she is the joy of my life!

Little did I know that volunteering at a PAWS adoption event would lead me to adopt the very dog I was in charge of! Or, should I say that HE adopted ME as that scruffy face, Lab energy and indefatigable Terrier spirit all called out to me that day in February 2002. Tino, as he is now known, is one of those dogs that people gravitate to. He is fearless, smart and king of his neighborhood, and there is nothing he won't do for a treat. He knows everyone and everyone knows him. In fact, one of his favorite ways
to pass an afternoon is to sit in the yard with a  bone in his mouth and a wag his tail, shouting out to all his friends (human and canine) who pass by. He might also be found taking a long walk with his daddy, playing Frisbee or catch at his favorite park, or climbing to the top of the sofa, ready to attack whatever squirrel he may see through the window. Tino loves car rides, swimming and being the center of attention and we thank PAWS for bringing us this goofy ball of dog! We plan to adopt him a sister in the coming months and I know she will be as delightful of an addition to our family as Tino is. - Cindy La Greca and Sanjiv Sarwate

Our names are Faith and Foster (PAWS names Pam and Pete). We are brother and sister and were reunited at the PAWS alumni gathering on February 21. We would love to meet up with our other brother and two sisters, Patrick, Peggy and Petunia, who also found a home through PAWS. Come play with us! Please contact Faith's mom at lgarcia@schooldistrict100.org or lohler@yahoo.com. Faith and Foster

Yoda Just wanted to send you a photo of Yoda (now known as "Sister Bertrille" of "The Flying Nun" fame many years ago) in her new home. She is fitting right in with my mom, Joan. The two of them have hit it off marvelously! "Bertie" already has her very own chair (when. mom is doing things around the house). The rest of her time is spent watching TV with mom on the couch, riding in the car and enjoying the sights or playing. She is full of kisses and loves to be cuddled (honestly, could anyone resist her little
pixie face?!). Thanks, PAWS, for this wonderful addition to our family! We promise to keep in touch!! - Mary Ramsden and Joan Blazejack
