Pretty Girl

Pretty Girl (PAWS Chicago name, Itty), is a Pit Bull/American Bulldog mix who was 4 months old when adopter Nicole gave her a loving forever home. “The first thing I noticed about her was that she seemed very aware and very smart,” she said. “I was specifically interested in adopting a Pit Bull because of their profound loyalty, intelligence and of course, because they’re such a gorgeous breed.”

Nicole learned during the adoption process that Pit Bulls need to burn a lot of energy so they don’t become destructive, so she chose to attend 6 weeks of behavior training. “The training has helped our relationship very much and I look forward to continuing.” Today, Pretty Girl is a loving, happy and playful girl who enjoys snuggling in bed and walking around town sporting her pink jacket with ruffles. She also loves keeping Nicole on her toes as she sneaks into the bathroom to play with the toilet brush.

“People are the only concern when it comes to Pit Bulls,” said Nicole. “When I’m with Pretty Girl, strangers come and warn me to be careful because she’s a Pit Bull,” said Nicole. “I let them know that she’s just a happy puppy. It’s people, not the dog that causes the problem.”
