Oliver

Oliver (PAWS Chicago Name, Audi) was a one-year old Labrador/Pit Bull mix when he chose his new guardians at PAWS Chicago. According to his adopters, “We absolutely love him and wouldn’t pick a different dog for the world, but he was the one who made the initial decision.”

“Before we met “Ollie,” we were a bit weary of adopting a Pit Bull. But, that all went out the window when we met him. He was our dog the minute we walked into the room.” Ollie’s adopters witnessed his loving and energetic personality and immediately fell in love. “We were both amazed at how quickly he bonded with us and started looking to us for guidance and protection.”

Immediately following the adoption, Ollie’s adopters worked with behavioral counselor and trainer Curtis Scott out of their home to establish a few basic commands and training techniques. Of the training, they said, “We all benefited from the training. Oliver learned that there are rules and limitations that he has to obey and we learned how to better establish and maintain those rules.”

“Now that Oliver is in our life, it is impossible to imagine what our days would be like without him. The strength of the bond that we have with him is beyond belief and we are humbled by his devotion to us. We try to return that love and devotion to him and to be the best parents possible,” said Ollie’s adopters. They continued, “Pit Bulls are a vastly misunderstood breed and they need a lot of help from good people. They are beautiful, loving, devoted dogs who have been horribly misused in the past, but we shouldn’t make them suffer for that.”
