Sassafras (PAWS Name Sammy)

Hi – Sammy (we call her Sassafras – Sassy for short, since she’s so spunky) is doing extremely well. She has really bonded with us. She follows me around in the house and waits at the door, cries until I come home.

She is always bringing us her toy mice because she loves to play. Mark works from home and enjoys having 3 play dates a day. She’s delighted, since at PAWS she stayed in a cage due to her inability to get along with other cats.

She has totally mellowed. She allows me to brush her without a fuss and I am even able to clip her nails. This from a kitty who the vet could not fully exam without anesthesia because she fought so much. She is very cuddly at night, stretching on our bed for a full belly rub while purring.

We put mesh screen on our deck and she loves to sit outside and watch the birds and smell what’s happening in the neighborhood.

She brings lots of laughter to our lives and we know that she is happy, since she is being doted upon and has so much room and freedom.

I have attached a few photos. (sorry for the delay – I keep thinking I can get a self portrait of the 3 of us, maybe later.)

thx, Deb
