Maizey (PAWS Name Lonnie)

Hello,

We recently adopted Lonnie, now known as Maizey!

She is doing wonderfully in her new home. While it did take her a day or two to get adjusted to the new environment, we have watched her grow and flourish each day that she has lived with us. Maizey is eating well, sleeping well, playing well and her overall health is great!

Maizey enjoys roaming in the backyard and playing with her pal and roommate Oskee (a PAWS adoption dog, too!) They get along wonderfully and enjoying chasing each other around. Maizey also is getting better on and seems to be enjoying walks. While she was scared of the leash when we brought her home, we are now up to 1-2 mile walks with her and hope to keep improving. She does get frightened on very busy streets, but walks extremely well in more residential areas.

She is getting used to going in her crate for some hours of the day and will soon have a dog-walker come and take her out while we are gone at work. While some days she does bark when we leave, other days she goes into her crate without a problem. She is always more than excited to see us upon our return home.

Maizey is enrolled and currently taking classes at K9 university. She is learning the basic commands and practicing them at home. She enjoys the clicker and more obviously, the treats that follow!

Overall, we have been extremely happy to have Maizey as an addition to our family. We are awed at her progress and can’t wait to get to know her even more. Thank you for your help and guidance throughout this process. It has been greatly appreciated.

Attached are some pictures of Maizey in her new home.

Have a wonderful day,

Kelly and Joseph
