Well, it’s been a little over a month that Hoppy and Twiney have been a part of my family and they seem to have adjusted quite well. They LOVE my window ledge and I can usually find one or both of them sleeping in one of the window ledge beds. They both have moments of running around my 1-bedroom apartment back and forth from my bedroom to the living room. Hoppy will sleep with me on occasion, but I think other nights he’ll sleep with Twiney on my “favorite” purple chair (they have taken over the chair so I don’t get much time in the chair…oh well!). I’m convinced they are psychic because it never fails that 5 minutes before my alarm goes off they start their plot to wake me up. I hear Twiney “say” something to Hoppy and then Hoppy with walk across my head (he ONLY does this when he wants me up)….if that doesn’t work then he’ll jump on my dresser next to bed and slowly knock things off….I usually ignore it which will cause Twiney to say something else and Hoppy will walk back and forth on my head again. It’s pretty comical that they’ve trained me to actually get up before my alarm! I have to say that on Saturday and Sunday mornings I wake up around 5am (poor cats think they’re getting fed at 5am) and close my bedroom door. When I do get up they are right at the door ready for me to feed them. Twiney still won’t let me pick him up, but he’ll come up to me a few times a day so I can pet him and scratch under his chin. I hope one day he’ll let me hold him. They seem to be pretty close, but on occasion Hoppy will chase Twiney and irritate Twiney to the point of hissing. I think Hoppy is just so excited to have a lot of space. Next weekend I’ll be purchasing a cat tree because I realize that Hoppy, especially, needs higher places to jump than the window sill.
They are definitely happy and have shown so many moments of happiness and relaxation. You can rest assure that they have a home for life! They are sweet cats and have won over the love of my friends and family who have come to visit. Thank you again for all that you’ve done and for taking such good care of such sweet cats.
