Brewer (PAWS Name Mitch)

Hi there,

I hope the PAWS family had a wonderful holiday and a great start to the new year! We adopted “Mitch” at the beginning of October and now he comes to his new and final name Brewer. Our little man has found his niche in River North and is a regular at the neighborhood dog parks. Tim and I are very proud that he is the faster dog in the hood. In just two weeks Brewer will complete the first level of doggie classes at K9 University. From there it is onto agility class – he has a spring in his step that sends him over 5 feet in the air! We had a blast at the Fur Ball and can’t wait for next year. He is a sweetie who loves to curl up on the couch with his family after a long day. Tim and I are very happy new parents.

He does have a rather large problem when we leave him at home alone. His separation anxiety is something that we would like to get a handle on. He stays in his crate when we head to work in the morning with a kong and the TV on. Our neighbors tell us that he barks and crys for about :30 mins before calming down and they are not very happy with us. He is a perfect little angel when we are together but does not like to be left out of the party. We also purchased a bark control machine that sends out a sonic sound but to be honest, I don’t think its working. We would love any additional advice that you could send our way.

All the best,
Jess and Brewer
