Peaches is a lovely, 5-year-old Pointer mix who was transferred to PAWS from a rescue group in southern Illinois. This beautiful girl is used to a quiet, rural environment, so the transition to an urban neighborhood was tough for her. Thankfully, Peaches has had the opportunity to spend time in two foster homes, and has done wonderfully! Her first foster family described Peaches as “an angel” and said that she was very gentle and sweet.
Peaches weighs about 50 pounds and is in excellent health. Like most Pointers, she is very playful and enjoys spending time outdoors. She is social with other dogs and got along well with the two small dogs in her first foster home. She is house-trained and has been a perfect house guest. Peaches greets guests politely and enjoys taking trips to the local pet supply store. She has been described as very smart and self-disciplined– her first foster mom noted that she has an amazing propensity for learning tricks and is always eager to please. With patience, positive reinforcement, and a few treats, it seems like there isn’t anything this sweet girl can’t do!
Peaches has so many great qualities, but her fosters noted that she can be reactive on leash around other dogs, so a home with a backyard or one in a quiet neighborhood would be best. She did especially well in her first foster home, which was in the suburbs. Because Peaches can also be nervous around new people, a home with just adults would be best for her.
Although Peaches is thankful to have been rescued, she can’t wait to trade her foster home for a forever home– somewhere that she can relax and just be herself. Will you give Peaches the life she deserves?
