Loba is a 2-year-old Shepherd mix awaiting her forever home at the PAWS Chicago Adoption Center! This spunky, sweet girl came to PAWS in April, when her previous owners could no longer provide for her. Loba is ready to have tons of fun this summer, and can’t wait to find the perfect adopters to share it with!
At 37 pounds, Loba is the perfect size. She is small enough to live comfortably in a condo or apartment building, but still has the energy and endurance of a larger breed. Loba loves going for walks around the city, and is well-behaved on leash. She is already crate-trained, and house-trained as long as she is walked regularly. Loba even has some basic obedience skills and is a loyal, devoted companion. Her favorite toys are tennis balls and bones to chew on, although she is selective about which treats she enjoys. This social pooch likes other medium and large-sized dogs (as long as they appreciate her rough play style), and is very popular at the dog park and doggie daycare.
Loba is a cunning hunter and will stealthily stalk birds, bunnies, and squirrels outside. Because Loba likes to chase small critters, a home with cats or little dogs would not be for her. Like a lot of Shepherds, Loba is protective of her home turf and can be wary of visitors. For this reason, she would be best-suited for a home with just adults, where she will be slowly and carefully introduced to new friends. With lots of treats and a little patience, she warms up to guests nicely.
Although Loba can be a little insecure at times, she is highly trainable and is gaining more confidence every day. She just needs someone who will believe in her. Will you give Loba a place to call home?
