Bobbie is a tiny Chihuahua mix with a very big heart! This loving 6-year-old is ready to jump in your lap and shower you with kisses and unconditional love– he can’t wait to find a family to become completely devoted to. Turned into Animal Control as a stray in the autumn, Bobbie made his way to PAWS and was vaccinated, neutered, and micro chipped in preparation for adoption. He is currently spending some time in a foster home, to gain more information about his personality and determine what type of home would be best for Bobbie.
Bobbie is very social and affectionate. He is great with people, including children as long as they handle him gently. Bobbie loves other dogs of all shapes and sizes (he is very fond of his foster brother, a 6-year-old Yorkie), but he does like to chase skateboards, squirrels, and cats– so only a friendly, dog-savvy kitty would make a good feline companion for him. This snuggly guy loves to cuddle and prefers to be near his people whenever possible. Give him a belly rub and Bobbie will become your loyal friend forever.
Bobbie is calm, gentle, and sweet. He loves going for walks, sniffing around outside, and playing with his favorite rope toy. He is extremely relaxed and happy when being scratched behind the ears. This house-trained guy is good in a crate and tolerates car rides nicely. Bobbie already knows “sit” and “shake”, but could use some work on his leash manners as he tends to pull when he sees other dogs. A quiet home where he will recieve lots of positive reinforcement (especially in the form of doggie treats!) would be perfect for Bobbie.
Because Bobbie has been diagnosed with epilepsy, he is on an affordable medication twice daily to prevent seizures. Luckily he takes it likes a champ and hasn’t had a seizure in months!
Bobbie is currently in a foster home. To learn more about managing canine epilepsy and Bobbie, please contact PAWS Chicago at 773-935-7297 or adoptions@pawschicago.org.
