Meet Garfield!

Much like his iconic cartoon strip namesake, our Garfield at PAWS Chicago may be guilty of partaking in too much lasagna. Garfield does have a few pounds to loose but don’t be fooled by his size.

Even though he’s a big boy, this handsome orange tabby enjoys his fair share of playtime and snooze time. He’s also one smart cookie; he is so intelligent that he’s has even figured out how to open sliding closet doors!

At 10 years of age, Garfield shows some signs of slowing down in his middle age but he still loves to chase laser lights and playing in paper bags. He’s not too interested in other toys and will lay on the ball track as opposed to playing with it in his foster home.

Now that he’s adjusted, he spends his days sleeping on the couch and has recently started nuzzling and sleeping in his foster mom’s lap. When his foster mom is working on her computer, he loves to interrupt her and nudge her keep petting him. But he likes to approach people instead of having people approach him. For this reason, Garfield will need to be in an adults only household with experienced owners that recognize when he wants attention and when he wants some alone time. He also needs some time to adjust to new environments so he hopes to find a forever home that is patient and allows him to become comfortable on his own time.

Garfield is an outgoing guy who isn’t afraid to share that he can’t wait to find his forever home.

Meet Garfield today and he’ll show you how much fun you can have together!
