What is Spay Day USA?
Spay Day USA is the Doris Day Animal Foundation's national campaign to
save the lives of homeless animals through the spay or neuter of our
pets and feral cats.
Since Spay Day USA's inception in 1995, event participants - like PAWS
Chicago - have spayed or neutered over 1,225,000 cats, dogs and other
animals, saving millions of animal lives and taxpayer dollars!
PAWS Chicago celebrated SPAY DAY USA! by providing our customers with a
free voucher that they can give to a friend or use for another pet to
promote spay and neuter. In addition a drawing was held for free
vaccinations and gift baskets.
Winners included: Michelle Chapman, Lisa Wallenstein and Darlene
Fleming.
Students at Claremont Math and Science Academy (Head Start and First
Grade) and Mark Twain Elementary School (6th Grade) participated in a poster and
essay contest (Click here to view
the rules of the contest). Entries were displayed in the Lurie Family
Spay Neuter Clinic lobby for two weeks. Participants were awarded a PAWS
Chicago T-shirt and the winners have been invited to tour the Lurie
Family Spay Neuter Clinic.
