Perry's Story

"Perry is a great companion!" says his former foster. He is highly affectionate – any love you can give him, he’ll take and more please! He loves to jump into your lap, kiss your face, and then run excitedly around the room with his favorite squeaky toy! This bundle of energy balances his day with timely naps and evening snuggles on the couch. Left to him, he may be happy to snuggle in bed with you all day!

Perry has been working on crate training and has proudly achieved up to five hours alone at home. He has also mastered his leash walking skills and the “heel” command. While he is willing to share the sidewalk with humans of all ages, he is not so generous with the neighborhood doggies!

Perry enjoys all foods including medications – no need to hide them. His treasured treat though is a Kong filled with peanut butter. This bundle of joy is ready for a family to snuggle and play with. Have you been looking for Perry?

Meet Perry

Join us on May 25th, from 6-9 pm for an IN-PERSON PUP-UP Adoption Event at the Lincoln Park Adoption Center. This is a one-night-only chance to meet some of the amazing dogs living in foster homes right now! Only selected dogs (with the PUP-UP Banner) will be participating in this special adoption event.

Things to know about this event:

  • Make an appointment for the Foster PUP-UP here.
  • Please be sure to complete your ComPETibility quiz and adoption application before the event.
  • The dogs with the "Pup-Up" banner will be a part of this event. Please be sure to check their ComPETibility ratings against your own for great matches.
  • The event is first-come, first-serve for applicants who meet all adoption requirements and are a match for the selected animal.
  • The entire household must be present for the event to ensure that the dog is the right fit for the person/family.
    • Please note that many of these wonderful dogs would do best in homes without young children.
  • If you have a resident dog, it is required to bring them along to meet the potential new canine family member!
  • If you are interested in other animals not participating in this event, please make an adoption appointment to visit the Lincoln Park Adoption Center another time.

Regular adoption fees and a $100 refundable training deposit still apply.

Adoption Process

All PAWS Chicago dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have up-to-date shots based on age and arrival date.
